Zamboanga vice-mayor, 3 others hurt in car crash
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - A town vice mayor in Zamboanga del Norte, his wife, son and driver were injured after their service pick-up truck crashed on a roadside barrier Thursday along the highway in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte, police said.
Police Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, public information officer of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), identified the victims as Nathaniel Usin, 55, incumbent vice mayor of Siocon town in Zamboanga del Norte, his wife Revera, 52, his son Ray-ial, 22, and driver Richard Tanoco.
Police investigation disclosed that the victims on board their Toyota Hilux with plate number GMT-400 driven by Tanoco was traveling from Siocon town bound to Dipolog City when it crashed along the highway of Barangay Disakan in Manukan town.
Police said the victims’ vehicle was reportedly speeding when the driver lost control of the vehicle that swerved to its right and crashed on the concrete barrier.
The victims, who sustained injuries, were rushed to the Zamboanga del Norte for treatment.
