BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Four people, including a seven-year-old boy, met their deaths while two others were hurt when a truck rammed a waiting shed and an electric post along the often foggy national highway in Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya yesterday, authorities said.
Investigators said the truck, which was carrying sand, went wayward after it lost its brakes.
Senior Inspector Norlie Gamal, Diadi police chief, identified the fatalities as truck driver Jonathan Camba, his seven-year-old son Nathaniel, truck helper Pacoholo Mendoza, and a certain Jose Rivera who was waiting for a ride at the waiting shed in Barangay Balete.
The Cambas were thrown out of the truck because of the impact and were electrocuted from the fallen electric post.
Residents John Mark Maciente and Joshua Camacam, who were also waiting for a bus ride, sustained injuries, police said.
