MANILA, Philippines - Authorities destroyed P3.6 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings during a three-day operation in Benguet, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Wednesday.
The teams- including agents from PDEA–Cordillera Administrative Region, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group-Benguet, and Benguet Provincial Public Safety Company- conducted a marijuana eradication at Sitio Lokok and Sitio Tagpaya in Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet which resulted in the discovery of seven marijuana plantation sites with an estimated land area of 1,200 square meters.
The operation was conducted from June 24 to June 27.
PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac, Jr. said that no cultivator was arrested during the operation, but the operating teams were able to burn 10,000 fully grown marijuana plants, 6 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves, 5 kilograms of marijuana stalks, 9 kilograms of marijuana seeds and 12,250 seedlings of marijuana plants.
