MANILA, Philippines — Crime scene investigators from the Makati City Police Office started Wednesday the inspection of a residence where the fatal Tau Gamma Phi fraternity initiation rites allegedly took place.

A house along Calatagan Street in Barangay Palanan was cordoned off by Makati policemen as they question a certain "Bernard," the caretaker of the house allegedly owned by Merlyn Venus.

Makati cops believe that the hazing that resulting in the death of 18-year-old Guillo Cesar Servando, a student of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, was held at a vacant lot behind the house.

Fraternity members who carried out the deadly assault on Servando and three other students are still at large.

The victims were reportedly dropped off at One Archer's Place along Taft, Avenue in Manila after the initiation. Servando, who was rushed to the hospital, died shortly after.

Investigators arrived at the residence on Tuesday afternoon with Jomar "Badjao" Pajarito, believed to be the house's other caretaker and a witness who saw Servando and three other neophytes arrive in the house last Saturday. Pajarito told the police, however, that he did not witness the initiation rites.

"[Pajarito] decided to surrender kasi may namatay. Nakonsenya yata siya because someone died, he felt guilty,” a source privy to the investigation told The STAR.
