MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Friday announced that it will implement the "no apprehension policy" on all trucks-for-hire nationwide starting Saturday.
LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said the Board and the Land Transportation Office will not apprehend for a month trucks with green plates with pending applications for a franchise and provisional permit.
Ginez said this aims to address the concerns of the business sector on the delays of delivery of goods that might cause possible increase of prices of basic commodities.
The concerns were raised by several truck operators during a meeting with LTFRB officials.
The no apprehension policy will end on July 29.
