Heavy rains over Metro Manila as LPA nears Aurora
MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and some regions in Luzon will have a rainy Friday as a low pressure area (LPA) approaches Aurora, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was located at 240 kilometers east of Baler Aurora at 4 a.m.
Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon will have moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds coming from the southwest to west will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
PAGASA said light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
