Marijuana plants uprooted in Negros

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Police uprooted at least 50 fully grown marijuana plants and seized seeds and seedlings in a plantation near a rice field in Bago City, Negros Occidental last Sunday afternoon.

Superintendent Arnel Arpon, Bago City police chief, said he earlier received reports from school heads near the area that marijuana was being sold to their students.

Police were still checking who owns the land, but based on initial investigation, the land is covered by the agrarian reform program.
