MANILA, Philippines - The suspected killer of a radio commentator, who was gunned down late last year, and his coddler were nabbed by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Friday in Bukidnon province.
CIDG Director Benjamin Magalong said policemen arrested Dionisio Daulong around 5:30 a.m. in Barangay Paitan in Quezon town, for the killing of Joash Dignos, a radio blocktimer of dxGT Radyo Abante in Maramag town, sometime November last year.
Magalong said Daulong has standing warrants of arrest for two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and attempted murder, all issued in Malaybalay City.
He said Daulong is a member of the Batistil gang, which is engaged in robberies, assassinations in Bukidnon.
Police also nabbed Daulong's coddler, Aniceto Lopez, a former barangay kagawad, during the operation inside the suspect's house.
The suspect yielded a .45 pistol and several ammunition during his arrest.
Dignos was gunned down by two men while on his way to the toilet after drinking with his friends in a restaurant on the evening of Nov. 29, 2013.
The gunmen escaped on motorcycles after the shooting leaving Dignos, who bore 22 gunshot wounds.
