MANILA, Philippines - The suspected killer of a radio commentor who was gunned down late last year and his coddler were nabbed by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Friday in Bukidnon province.
CIDG Director Benjamin Magalong said policemen arrested Dionisio Daulong around 5:30 a.m. in Brgy. Paitan, Quezon , Bukidnon for the killing of Joash Dignos, a radio blocktimer of dxGT Radyo Abante in Maramag town sometime November last year.
Magalong said Daulong has standing warrants of arrest for two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and attempted murder all issued in Malaybalay City.
Police also nabbed Daulong's coddler, Aniceto Lopez, a former barangay kagawad, during the operation inside the suspect's house, Magalong added.
He said that Daulong, a member of Batistil gang which is engaged robberies, assassinations in the area of Bukidnon, yielded a cal.45 pistol and several ammunition during his arrest.
Dignos was gunned down by two men while on his way to the toilet after drinking with his friends in a restaurant on the evening of November 29, 2013.
The gunmen escaped on motorcycles after the shooting leaving Dignos, who bore 22 gunshot wounds.
