2 dead, 1 hurt as van rams QC footbridge - report
MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed while another was injured early Friday after a delivery van rammed a footbridge in Quezon City.
A radio report identified one of the fatalities as Biner Pagindol while the driver of the van Eduardo Pabunita was hurt during the accident.
Quoting witnesses in the area, the report said the delivery van was being chased by another vehicle before it slammed into the footbridge on the corner of Edsa and Quezon Avenue.
The report said the delivery van figured in another accident prior the footbridge incident.
Pabunita later admitted to authorities that he was drunk and was driving fast before the vehicle, loaded with vegetables, hit the footbridge, the report said.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
