Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - Police arrested and detained a German national who was charged with two counts of grave oral defamation Wednesday afternoon in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, according to an official.

Senior Inspector Joseph Ortega, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), identified the suspect as Norbert Kruger, 48, divorced, a German national with postal address of Halver, Germany but temporarily residing in Dipolog City.

Ortega said the elements of Dipolog Police Station arrested Kruger from his residence at Barangay Anahaw Galas about 3 p.m. by virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Veronica Laput of Municipal Trial Court branch 2 for the crime of two counts of grave oral defamation dated June 10, 2014.

Ortega could not immediately provide reports as to how the case of Kruger stemmed. But the court has recommended P6,000 bail bond for each count of the complaints against Kruger’s temporarily liberty.
