BATANGAS, Philippines – Six people were injured when a man fired a gun during a fiesta celebration in Tanauan City Friday night, police said yesterday.
The victims identified as Simeon Javier, Shiela Señar, Shaira Mae Quiatchon, Joven Pardillas, Joy Annie Mariz Obrador and Charisse Anne de Guia were rushed to the CP Reyes Hospital in Tanauan City and in Saint Cabrini Hospital in Sto. Tomas town for treatment, said Superintendent Chris Olazo, Tanauan City police chief.
Olazo said the victims were watching a show at a basketball court in Barangay Pagaspas when the gunman, identified as Lino Malabanan, allegedly fired at the crowd at around 9:15 p.m.
He said Malabanan’s target was Javier, with whom the suspect reportedly had a misunderstanding.
Malabanan escaped after the shooting.
