The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two suspected drug pushers were killed after a buy-bust operation turned into a shootout with policemen in Quezon City, before dawn Tuesday.

Police identified the suspects through their aliases Mac-mac, between 25 and 30 years old and Boy Muslim, between 30 and 35 years old.

Undercover cop Police Officer 3 Geronimo Lazo managed to transact with the suspects, who agreed to a meet up at around 2:30 a.m. in Katuparan Street, Barangay Commonwealth.

After handing over 50 grams of shabu to Lazo, the suspects sensed the undercover agent's companions and fired their guns at the approaching law enforcers.

Recovered from the slain victims were a .38 revolver, a .45 pistol, assorted ammunition, two plastic pouches of dried marijuana leaves, and the P1,000 marked money. Iza Iglesias, trainee
