CAFGU member nabbed for drug peddling

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) apprehended an active member of the Citizens Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) during a sting operation in Maguindanao.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Datu Ali Salik Nor, 22, assigned at the Baka Detachment, 38th Infantry Battalion in Taviran, Maguindanao.
The operatives pounced on Nor after handing over a plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer during the operation last May 6.
When frisked, Nor yielded an additional sachet of shabu weighing approximately five grams, a cal. 380 pistol with a magazine assembly and seven rounds of live ammunition.
Nor's companion,Tuli Bantay Alfonso, a suspected member of the Bua Drug Group based in Maguindanao, was able to elude arrest after sensing the presence of the PDEA operatives in the area.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed before the Maguindanao Prosecution Office against Nor and Alfonso.
Nor will also be slapped for illegal possession of firearms.
