DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least three children were reported to have died in a school here where victims of the Isla Verde fire earlier this month have taken temporary shelter.
Close to 3,000 families in three barangays were affected by the fire but they still were not allowed to resettle because the city government has to come up first with a proper plan before they could build any structures.
According to the city health office, the three children, who were staying at the Zonta Elementary School in Isla Verde, included a four-year-old child who succumbed to sepsis and two others who died of measles.
