Quakes jolt Isabela, Batanes
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A magnitude 3.5 earthquake rocked the town of Divilacan in Isabela on Friday, a day after tremors also shook Sabtang town in Batanes.
No one was reported injured or killed in the quakes, which were said to be tectonic in origin.
Reports said the Isabela quake was felt at around 11:42 p.m. with its epicenter traced 63 kilometer (km) northeast of Divilacan.
On Thursday, a magnitude 4.9 and 4.5 earthquakes were recorded in Sabtang town at 11:47 p.m. and 11:50 p.m., respectively.
The quakes’ epicenters were located 171 km and 165 km southwest of the town.
