MANILA, Philippines - To ease travel of motorists going to the provinces during Lent, the Metropolitan Manila Development  Authority on Wednesday suspended the implementation of the number coding scheme.

The MMDA has lifted the effectivity of the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program for all private and public utility vehicles since 9 a.m. today until Good Friday, April 18 in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the lifting of the number coding scheme is aimed to facilitate convenience and mobility of travelers for the Holy Week.
