MANILA, Philippines - As an advocate of resource conservation and environment protection, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) participated in the recent five-day celebration of World Water Day 2014 spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The celebration started with a ceremonial tree planting and a water-energy nexus tour at the Angat hydroelectric power plant in Norzagaray, Bulacan. NGCP’s Environment Management Division head Julia Echavez (second from right) attended the kickoff program with National Power Corp. president Gladys Sta. Rita and representatives of other agencies.
