MANILA, Philippines - Around 150 families lost their homes after a fire broke out in Quezon City Friday dawn.
A radio report said that some 50 houses, most of which were made of light materials, were destroyed by flames that quickly spread in Tandang Sora, Banlat Road, Quezon City.
Firefighters suspected that the fire started at the Belarmino residence, the report added.
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze, which reached the fourth alarm, a few hours later, the report said.
Arson investigators said that the blaze, which destroyed around P500,000 worth of properties, could have been caused by an unattended lit candle.
