1 of 7 in Pasig call center gang rape falls

MANILA, Philippines - One of the seven men who gang-raped a nurse inside a call center office in Pasig City, more than a year ago was arrested by police Monday night.

Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong, acting director of the Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said operatives nabbed Harold Gaufo inside Plaza D Northgate Cyberzone at the Filinvest Corporate City along Alabang-Zapote Road in Muntinlupa City.

Magalong said police officers were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Elisa Sarmiento-Flores, Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 71 of Pasig City for rape.

Records showed that on Dec. 31, 2012, the victim, a 27-year-old nurse working in a call center in Ortigas Center, was sleeping inside the clinic when she was sexually attacked by seven men.

Six more suspects in the gang rape are being tracked down by policemen.
