Woman, 2 grandkids die in Taguig fire -report

MANILA, Philippines - An elderly woman her two grandchildren were killed after they were trapped inside their burning house in Taguig City on Wednesday.

Reports said that the burnt bodies of Zenaida delos Santos, 68; her grandchildren, Roniel, seven years old ; and Ariana, one year old, were recovered inside their house.

The blaze at the victims' residence started after midnight Wednesday. Firefighters managed to put out the fire before 1 a.m.  the report said.

Arson investigators suspected that an unattended lit gas lamp caused the fire which also burned an adjacent house in the area, the report added.
