2 teeners killed in Ilocos mishap

BANTAY, Ilocos Sur, Philippines – Two minors died when their motorcycle collided with a passenger van in Barangay Taleb in this town yesterday.

Guillermo Donato Barbosa, 14, and Raymart Bayken,15, reportedly overtook another vehicle when they slammed into a van coming from the opposite direction.

The victims were thrown off their motorcycle and died at the scene due to head injuries.

Van driver Edwin Pespes suffered injuries while his seven passengers were unhurt. He was placed under police custody after the incident. 

Meanwhile in Pampanga, two persons were injured when a delivery truck loaded with LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) tanks fell off a ramp along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac-Expressway (SCTEX) in Mabalacat on Friday.

The incident snarled traffic along the highway, said Senior Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan, officer-in-charge of the Pampanga police.

Truck driver Allan Policarpio and his helper Ramiro Macdon suffered injuries and were taken to the Mabalacat District Hospital for treatment.

Gaerlan said the delivery truck was registered to TRI Flame LPG in Barangay ACFA, Cabanatuan City.
