MANILA, Philippines - A group of survivors of supertyphoon Yolanda will storm on Friday the main office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Quezon City to bring the rotten relief goods distributed by the agency in Tacloban City.
Members of the group, People Surge, led by Sister Edita Eslopor, are set to dump the damaged relief goods at the office of DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman.
The group will also reiterate its call to facilitate the distribution of relief goods to the affected families most of whom claimed they have yet to get assistance from DSWD nearly five months after the devastation in Eastern Visayas.
Earlier, the group had asked the national government to provide P40,000 cash dole out to Yolanda survivors for them to start fresh.
However, government officials turned down the group's request.
