MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will come out with a resolution on the P.50 provisional fare increase being asked for by jeepney operators within the week.
LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said the Board will decide on the motion by operators for a provisional fare hike.
"Itong linggo, pwede na naming mailabas ang resolution dun sa kanilang motion for provisional increase," Ginez said in a radio interview on Monday.
The LTFRB head also warned that transport operators who would be imposing a fare hike without the decision of the Board will be penalized.
He said the Board would be forced to cancel or revoke the transport operator's franchise if they implement the fare increase without the permission from the agency.
