Man yields P150K worth of drugs in Laguna bust
MANILA, Philippines - A 23-year-old man yielded some 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to an undercover agent during a buy-bust operation in Laguna, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Friday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Carlo Santiago, a resident of Metroville Subdivision, Biñan, Laguna.
Reports showed that last March 18, around 5:30 p.m., an undercover agent met with Santiago in Pacita Complex, Biñan, Laguna.
Upon a pre-arranged signal, agents of PDEA Regional Office 4A immediately swooped down on the suspect after he handed over about 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P150,000 contained inside a plastic bag to the poseur-buyer.
Santiago, now detained at the PDEA-ROA4 jail, will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
