MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook Batanes on Tuesday, the state-run Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The Phivolcs said the tremor happened around 1:13 p.m. with its epicenter was traced 18 kilometers southeast of Uyugan.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at Intensity 2 in Basco, Batanes, the Phivolcs added.
Phivolcs said that the quake had a depth of one kilometer.
No damage and aftershocks were expected, the Phivolcs reported.
