LAGUNA , Philippines – A robbery suspect was seriously wounded when he attempted to shoot it out with policemen who were serving three arrest warrants against him in his hideout in Cabuyao City on Saturday, authorities said.
Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, acting Laguna police director, said the suspect, John Paul Hatulan, was brought to the Ospital ng Cabuyao for two gunshot wounds in his legs.
Aside from his three pending robbery cases, Hatulan, according to Sapitula, will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs, and direct assault.
Seized from Hatulan were an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, and three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
