MANILA, Philippines - Tension gripped a public high school in Makati City after getting a bomb threat, police said on Wednesday.
Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban said the guard on duty of the Makati National High School along Gen. Luna Street, Barangay Poblacion received a call around 7:25 a.m. The caller told the guard that a bomb would go off inside the campus.
Lukban said the security guard immediately informed the authorities about the call, prompting the local police to deploy its bomb squad in the area.
After almost an hour of clearing, authorities found no explosives inside the school premises, Lukban said. - Mike Frialde
