Death of police trainee in Laguna camp probed
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Authorities are investigating the death of a police trainee at this police camp last week.
“There was no report of the death of a cadet trainee at the ITG (Institute Training Group) camp in our station, so I will send a prober to conduct an investigation to look into the cause of death and to find out if there is foul play or it is just a natural cause,†said Superintendent Marvin Saro, Calamba City police chief.
The STAR also tried to get the incident report at the ITG camp but failed.
The STAR learned that the body of the police trainee, identified only as PO1 Buendia, was found at the dispensary building by his fellow trainees.
Saro said any incident must be reported to police authorities for record purposes.
