Cudia’s fate still uncertain
MANILA, Philippines - The fate of beleaguered First Class Aldrin Jeff Cudia remains uncertain in the absence of result of the review being conducted by the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) honor committee on his appeal.
Lt. Col Ramon Zagala, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs Office chief, said the committee is still waiting for the formal written appeal of Cudia to its ruling, dismissing him for lying and recommending his dismissal.
“There is no word until now…It depends really on the result of the review, again we do not have that information until after the review and until the graduation happens,†he said.
The PMA graduation is set on March 16 with President Aquino as guest of honor.
Zagala said Cudia was given a fair chance and should prove that he is innocent of lying. “If he will present something new that will prove his innocence, that he did not violate the honor code then everybody will have to accept that he did not violate it and he regains his honor,†he said.
Meanwhile, Zagala said the AFP also ordered an investigation of the bogus website with the logo of the PMA, which published the names of supposed graduating cadets for 2014, including Cudia.
“First, we have to look into the website, we have to discuss with PMA who put that site up. If there are laws broken by such action, we have to look into it,†he said.
