Village exec, sister nabbed over drugs in Ilocos Sur
MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a barangay kagawad and his older sister during a raid on their house in Ilocos Sur, the PDEA said on Wednesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said that on the early morning of February 28, authorities searched the house of Ramon Zamora, 35, barangay councilor; and his sister, Rosemarie, 40, both of Barangay Poblacion Norte, Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur.
The search was authorized by Judge Sixto Diompoc of Regional Trial Court Branch 72, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.
During the search, operatives discovered four sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and nine aluminum foil strips containing shabu residue.
Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared to be filed in court against the Zamoras.
