P150K worth of shabu seized in QC drug bust
MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected pushers during an entrapment operation in Quezon City, seizing some 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P150,000, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said Wednesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the illegal drug was confiscated from suspects identified as Jan Jan Tayan, 23, of No. 147 Padilla Gomez Street, San Carlos City, Pangasinan; and Aiza Sampa, 39, of Fairview, Quezon City.
The buy bust operation was conducted last Feb. 24 inside a popular fast food chain in Fairview, Quezon City, the PDEA said.
A drug transaction was hatched between the suspects and a PDEA poseur-buyer to facilitate the sale of 50 grams of shabu, agreeing to meet inside a fast food restaurant along Don Mariano Marcos Avenue corner Regalado Street, Fairview, Quezon City, around 5 p.m.
Upon a pre-arranged signal, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 4A immediately pounced on the suspects after they handed over the illegal drug in exchange for the buy-bust money.
Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.
