MANILA, Philippines - A fire of still unknown origin struck the Fort Victoria Tower B condominiumm at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig late Tuesday afternoon.
Thick black smoke prevented repsonding firefighters from Pasig , Taguig and other areas from entering the building which caught fire at about 6 p.m.
As of 6:15 p.m. thick black smoke could be seen coming out of the condominium's parking floors as firefighers with breathing equipment attempt to penetrate inside. The stench of burning plastic was all around.
Responding firefighters said the fire started from the comdominium's garbage chute.
Firefighters said the fire reached the fourth alarm. The condominium was unoccupied but several construction workers doing work inside the condominium were evacuated by emergency responders.
The fire was put out at 6:47 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
