Cold mornings here again
MANILA, Philippines — After being interrupted by weeks of warmer temperature, the northeast monsoon or Amihan continues to bring cooler mornings in Luzon and Visayas.
State weather agency PAGASA said in a radio report that Metro Manila temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
The drop in temperature this week is coupled with strong winds blowing from the northeast, causing coastal waters to be rougher than usual.
Cloudy skies with light rains complementing the cold weather will prevail over Quezon and Aurora provinces.
Metro Manila and rest of Luzon and Visayas, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
Similarly, Mindanao is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA issued a gale warning, expecting strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon to affect the eastern seaboard of the archipelago.
Fishing boats and other small vessels are told to refrain from venturing out to the waters.
Larger sea vessels are also cautioned against large waves.
