Man electrocuted while stealing Meralco cable

MANILA, Philippines - A man died after being electrocuted while allegedly stealing electric cable from a Meralco electric post in Taguig City early Wednesday.

According to the Taguig City Police, victim Ferdinand Calica, alias Andoy, fell from the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) main post in Phase 1, Barangay Pinagsama along the C-5 Road at about 4:15 a.m.

Initial police investigation showed that Calica was attempting to steal electrical cable when he was electrocuted.

Calica was rushed to the St. Luke's Global Hospital inside the Bonifacio Global City by responding members of the Pasig Rescue Team. He was pronounced dead at 8 a.m.
