PDEA seizes 100 grams of shabu in Parañaque
MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents nabbed a suspected drug pusher, confiscating 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, during a sting operation in Parañaque City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Wednesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said that the illegal drug was confiscated from Geronimo Tibay Jr., 54, of Elvinda Village, San Pedro, Laguna.
Records showed that on Feb. 17, joint operatives of PDEA Special Enforcement Service and PDEA Regional Office 1 conducted a buy-bust operation along Service Road, Southbound, Sucat Interchange, Parañaque around 11 a.m.
Tibay was apprehended after he handed over 100 grams of shabu placed in plastic bag to a PDEA agent who posed as a buyer, in exchange for the P1,000 marked bill used as buy-bust money.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is now being prepared for filing in court against Tibay.
