Couple, grandchild beaten to death

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A couple and their grandchild were beaten to death at their farmhouse by suspected robbers in Lantawan, Basilan Monday.

Pablo Guerrero, his wife Teresa, and their five-year-old granddaughter Trixie, all of Barangay Boalan in this city, were visiting their farm in Barangay Switch Yakal when they were murdered, said Chief Inspector Basim Hassan, Lantawan town police chief.

Hassan said they have yet to determine the number of attackers who barged into the house and beat up the couple and the girl.

He said police have already identified one of the attackers but he refused to name names.

The suspects took the victims’ belongings before fleeing.

Responding policemen recovered the iron pipes used by the attackers in beating the victims to death.
