COTABATO CITY, Philippines - The police have launched an extensive hunt for the gunmen who shot and wounded a retired Philippine Army member and his soldier-son in Barangay Rosary Heights 10 here Sunday night.
The victims, Rodelio Regis, Sr. 59, and his son, Sgt. Rodelio Regis Jr. of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 1, are now undergoing medication at a hospital here.
The older Regis is a retired enlisted Army soldier, while his son is a member of a Marine battalion based in the city.
Sr. Insp. Reynaldo Delentin, chief of the city’s police precinct II, which has jurisdiction over Barangay Rosary Heights 10, said the victims figured in a heated altercation with a neighbor named Jake and his companions that led to a shootout.
The suspects fled, according to witnesses.
Delentin said policemen are now tracking down the suspects with the help of barangay officials.
