American, cop killed in motorcycle collision

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines   â€“ An American national and a police officer were killed, while the lawman’s wife was seriously injured when their motorcycles collided with each other in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte on Saturday.

Stephen Richard Orr, 60, and Senior Police Officer 1 Armand Dalman, 42, were declared dead on arrival at the Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital in Dapitan City, said Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman for the Police Regional Office 9.

Dalman’s wife, Nora, suffered a fractured arm and was declared in stable condition.

Huesca said investigation showed Orr and Dalman were driving their motorcycles from opposite directions when they figured in a collision in Barangay Polo at about 9:45 p. m. 

Meanwhile, four persons were killed in another collision involving a truck and a car in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental on Sunday.

Three of the victims died at the scene while the other one was declared dead on arrival at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center. Their names were not immediately available as of press time, said Laguindingan police chief Senior Inspector Jalasis Teves.
