ZAMBOANGA CITY - An American national and a local police officer were killed while the cop’s wife was seriously injured when their motorcycles collided head-on Saturday night in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, police said Monday.

Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), identified the fatalities as Stephen Richard Orr, 60, an American Citizen, a resident of Pinville, Los Angeles and Senior Police Officer 1 Armand Sagario Dalman, 42.

Dalman's wife, Nora, 42 and a government employee, was injured.

Orr was temporarily residing at Barangay Bononong, Dapitan City while the Dalmans were residents of Barangay Poblacion, Sibutad town, also in Zamboanga del Norte.

Huesca said that the victims' motorcycles collided along a highway in Barangay Polo in Dapitan City at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police investigators said that all of the victims were thrown from their motorcycles due to the impact of the collision.

Responders from the civic radio group REACT rushed the victims to the Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital in Dapitan City for treatment, but physicians declared Orr and the policeman dead on arrival.
