Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Wednesday inspected a bus companies units of units in Quezon City, following the fatal accident in Bontoc, Mt. Province last week.

The LTFRB team, led by the agency's executive director Roberto Cabrera, trooped to the Nova Auto Tranport garage in Novaliches, Quezon City to inspect the bus firm's 66 units.

The team initially discovered that one of the units' plate number did not match the chassis and engine numbers.

Cabrera, however, said that they are still verifying this with the LTFRB's database.

Nova Transport is a sister company of Don Mariano Transport, whose franchise has been revoked for a fatal accident several weeks ago in Skyway, Paranaque City.

Cabrera said that while being inspected, the 66 units would be temporarily grounded.

The LTFRB will also be readying a 30-day preventive suspension on the units with spurious documents.
