Suspect in father and son slay in Malabon surrenders
MANILA, Philippines - One of the suspects in the killing of a father and his son in Malabon surrendered to the authorities Thursday evening.
Reports said that Anthony Sernechez, 26, turned himself in to Caloocan police and owned up to the killing of Ferlizardo Coralde, 46 and his son Albert, 20 last Wednesday in Malabon.
Sernechez told the police that his only participation in the killing was to tie up and blindfold the two men. He pointed to a certain Aries Santos as the one who slit the throats of the victims, reports said.
The suspect also claimed that Santos is a relative of the victims.
Sernechez claimed that they only wanted to rob the victims, but Santos ended up killing the victims after Felizardo managed to take off his blindfold.
The two robbers took the P1,000 cash, a laptop, cell phone and tablet of the victims.
Police are still tracking down Santos.
