2 motorcycle thieves nabbed

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines - Policemen nabbed on Sunday in Kabacan town two notorious thieves implicated in 60 motorcycle theft cases in the past two months.

Chief Inspector Jordine Maribojo, chief of the Kabacan municipal police, identified the suspects as Amer Tiloma, 24, and Nur Ali Sandukan, 25, both involved in trafficking of illegal drugs.

Tiloma, who hails from Pagalungan, Maguindanao, and Sandukan, of Pikit, North Cotabato, have long been under surveillance for their involvement in criminal activities.

Maribojo said the suspects were intercepted by policemen riding together a motorcycle without a license plate.

The policemen that flagged them down recovered from them an unlicensed handgun.

Maribojo said the duo will be charged with illegal possession of firearms aside from the robbery cases that are to be filed against them in court anytime this week.
