QC call center raided for cybersex racket

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided a call center in Quezon City believed to be a front for a cybersex enterprise.

NBI Cybercrime Division Chief Ronald Aguto said in a radio interview that international firm Contact Center Solutions along Anonas Street, offer foreigners online links leading to websites featuring child pornography.

The company's computer units have also been confiscated to be checked for traces of obscene activities.

Aguto said one of the managers of the company accidentally revealed the covert operations of the firm by getting payments from the web links based on the number of "likes," new visits and registrations they gain.

The agent said foreigners from Europe and Australia make up the majority of the company's patrons.

Earlier, NBI agents raided Werrcomm Solutions Incorporated in Sta. Mesa with similar business operations as Contact Center Solutions.

Aguto said Werrcomm offers around 34 pornographic sites to clients in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia who virtually prey upon children as young as 12 to 15 years old.

The illegal cybersex businesses based in the Philippines recently made global headlines as local authorities, in coordination with international police, uncovered porn dens mostly catering to foreign pedophiles across islands.
