Drunk DPWH worker in Abra shoots 2 in a bar
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A drunk Department of Public Works and Highways employee in Abra shot and wounded two males inside a bar in Bangued, the province’s capital Wednesday night.
Policemen eventually cornered Junie Viste Balmaceda, an employee of the Abra Engineering District of the DPWH from barangay Poblacion, Lacub town.
Abra police said Balmaceda and 30 year olds Lester Lacaden Bayongan from Lingey, Bucloc town and Rommel Cabanting from Sabnangan, Luba town were drinking in separate tables at the MS Disco Bar at barangay Zone 5, Bangued at around 10:30 Wednesday night when a shouting match ensued between them.
Balmaceda reportedly left the place and later returned and immediately shot the victims several times.
Bayongan sustained a gunshot wound on his buttocks while Stock sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
Both victims of the shooting incident were rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital while the suspect fled, evading responding police operatives.
Pursuing policemen cornered the DPWH employee Thursday morning and seized the cal. 45 pistol he used.
Scene of the crime operatives found four fired cartridges and a deformed bullet from the firearm and two metal fragments where the shooting occurred.
