BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya , Philippines– Private workers in Cagayan Valley can expect a bigger take home pay this year as the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board has increased the daily minimum wage effective this month.
As prescribed in the new wage order, P7 has been added in the daily minimum wage of private workers in Batanes and Quirino, P6 in Nueva Vizcaya, P5 in Cagayan and P3 in Isabela.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said the new wage increase only applies to private establishments engaging in agriculture, non-agriculture and in retail and services with no more than 10 employees or workers.
Lawyer Sixto Rodriguez Jr., DOLE director for Cagayan Valley, said the wage order, which was approved in November last year, took effect on Jan. 5.
