DOH sends 15 ambulance teams for Black Nazarene celebrations

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday sent 15 ambulance teams to assist in the Feast of the Black Nazarene where an estimated 9 million devotees are expected to attend.

Each ambulance team includes five to six people including a head doctor, two other doctors and a nurse, Arnel Rivera of the DOH Health Emergency Staff said.

The teams will be at the Quirino Grandstand from 3 p.m. on Wednesday until 9 a.m. on Thursday. On Thursday, the day of the feast, the teams will be on site until the procession ends in Quiapo Church.

DOH has issued a code white alert to all government hospitals in Manila to be on standby for potential emergencies and casualties of up to 50.
