2 Acetylene gang members nabbed in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Police have arrested two suspected members of the "acetylene" robbery gang during a raid at the group's lair in Manila, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said on Tuesday.
The CIDG said that authorities nabbed James Yayak, 44, of Tadian, Mt. Province; and Randy Pelking, 37, of Dipaculao, Aurora during a raid at the syndicate's hideout at El Pacifico Pension Hill, Sta. Cruz, Manila last Jan. 6 around 10 a.m.
Initial report of the National Capital Region - CIDG said that prior to two men's arrest, police received information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects.
Police said that two men are active members of Acetylene Gang who were responsible in the recent Cagayan De Oro Pawnshop, Baguio City, Mabini robbery incidents on Dec. 27, 2013 and the foiled robbery at Maria Gracia Pawnshop in Roxas City.
During the arrest, policemen seized from the suspects six pieces of gold rings, four pawn tickets from various pawnshops, small weighing scale and acetylene torch.
The suspects will be turned over to Police Regional Office Cordillera.
