MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were reportedly hurt after a man took hostage four members of a household, including an eight-month-old baby girl, in Quezon City Monday morning.
A radio report said that the hostage-taker, only identified as Jerry, held at knife point members of a family at no. 13 Halcon St., Brgy. Sta. Teresita.
One of the wounded, the mother of the baby girl, was rushed to a hospital, reports added.
Initial reports said that the man barged into the house around 6:20 a.m. The knife-wielding man however failed to enter a room, where three members of a family managed to run and lock the door
After three hours of negotiations, authorities subdued the suspect, who carried the baby in one hand, the report said.
The report said one of the victims, who suffered a stab wound on the body, was also rushed to the hospital after policemen lunged on and arrested the hostage-taker.
