4 seriously hurt as bus rams farm tractor
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya , Philippines – Four family members sustained serious injuries after their farm tractor, locally called kuliglig, was rammed by a passenger bus in Cordon, Isabela early morning yesterday.
Reports identified the victims as Prudencio Alcantara Sr., his son Prudencio Jr., and their relatives, Juler Alcantara and Juanito Rivera, all residents of Barangay Gayong, Cordon town. As of press time, the victims were reportedly still in critical condition.
According to reports, the victims’ three-wheel farm tractor was cruising the national highway in Barangay Taransing when a northbound Cagayan Florida bus with license plate TXN 709 rammed it.
Because of the impact, the victims were reportedly thrown several meters away.
The bus driver, a certain Richard Cabanilla, of Quezon, Isabela, surrendered in a police checkpoint in an adjoining village. Charges are being readied against him.
